Sonos 27voice Early Access
According to Sonos's support article, 27voice Early Access is available to customers based in the United States and supports US English. Sign-ups are limited, first come, first served and not guaranteed. In the Sonos app, owners may see a Join Early Access for Sonos 27voice tile in Settings; after applying it shows You're on the list, and approved users see Set up Sonos 27voice.
Key points from Sonos's support pages and a Sonos staff post:
- It works on any Sonos product with a microphone and needs an internet connection.
- It is free and opt-in, and it replaces Sonos Voice Control system-wide; you can downgrade at any time. The existing assistant will be called Classic Sonos Voice Control during Early Access.
- It can share a speaker with Amazon Alexa but not with Google Assistant.
- It understands natural, vague and chained requests, supports follow-ups and answers general knowledge questions.
- It does not do alarms (timers yes), intercom, routines, calls or shopping.
Engadget reports that Sonos plans a full release in 2027 after testing with a smaller group. Sonos says that after Early Access, 27voice will be available globally in US English.
Sonos app 27.3
Sonos's release notes list these changes in version 27.3:
- Presets: one tap starts pre-saved content in chosen rooms at a set volume.
- Featured favorites: reorder how Sonos Favorites appear on Home.
- Swipe-to-skip on Now Playing and the mini player.
- Improvements to the Update Network experience.
- System Health (iOS): self-help information for spotting and fixing system issues in the Help Center.
- Android: you can rearrange your list of connected services.
Sonos notes that app updates roll out over several days or weeks.
