Govee
Smart lighting brand founded in 2017, known for app-controlled LED strip lights, TV backlights, floor lamps and permanent outdoor lights controlled from the Gov...
Govee's holiday range has grown well beyond a single strand of tree lights. The U.S. store now sells app-controlled Christmas string lights, C9 bulbs, icicle lights, a cone-shaped light tree, curtain and net lights, and an outdoor laser projector, and most of them can be programmed from the same Govee Home app. The product pages use similar wording, so it is hard to tell which fits a tree, a roofline or a hedge.
This roundup sorts the lineup by job. It is research-based: we did not hang these lights ourselves. Specs, sizes and prices come from Govee's own product pages on us.govee.com, read on November 5, 2026. Holiday prices change often, so check the product page before you order.

A note on the weather ratings: several Govee pages say the lights themselves are waterproof but the power adapter is only rated IP44 or meant for dry locations. Govee recommends keeping the adapter in a waterproof box outdoors. Plan for that before you run a cord across the lawn.
Best for a Christmas tree: Govee Christmas String Lights 2
This is the core of Govee's holiday range. It is a classic green-wire (or white-wire) tree strand where every bulb can be set on its own, which Govee calls RGBWIC with Uni-IC control. Govee lists 16 million colors, adjustable warm white, more than 130 preset scenes and 10+ music modes using a built-in microphone.
Its standout tree feature is shape mapping: the app locates each bulb, so effects follow the shape of the tree rather than the order of the wire.
Sizes and prices (Nov 5, 2026):
- 66 ft (H70C4): $99.99
- 99 ft (H70C5): $129.99
- 164 ft (H70C7): $179.99 to $199.99, depending on the wire color chosen
- 328 ft (H70C9): $399.99
Govee's own sizing advice is 66 feet for a 6-foot tree, 99 feet for a 7.5-foot tree and 164 feet for a 9-foot tree. The lights are rated IP65 and Govee lists operation from -20°C to 40°C. The adapters on the shorter lengths are IP44, while the 328-foot version's adapter is IP65. Control works through the Govee Home app, Alexa, Google Home and Matter.
Pick it if: you want one set that works on indoor and outdoor trees.
Best indoor tree lights with a classic look: Christmas Sparkle String Lights

The Sparkle String Lights use small, milky-white, bullet-shaped LEDs rather than round bulbs. Govee says they give a starlight effect, closer to traditional mini lights. The 66-foot H6870 has 250 LEDs and the 99-foot H6871 has 375. You still get individually addressable color, adjustable white, 140+ scene modes and 3D shape mapping, plus control by app, remote, Alexa, IFTTT and Siri.
The important limit: Govee lists this model as "Not Water Resistant." It is an indoor product. Prices on November 5 were $119.99 for 66 feet and $149.99 for 99 feet.
Pick it if: your tree stays inside and you prefer a dense, classic twinkle to big color effects.
Best for fences, porches and patios: C9 Christmas String Lights

C9 bulbs are the larger, old-fashioned holiday bulb shape, and Govee's version uses transparent textured shells with RGBWIC color inside. Govee lists more than 80 preset modes, an AI Lighting Bot that builds scenes from text, music sync through a built-in microphone, and DreamView syncing with other Govee lights.
The 49-foot H6860 has 50 bulbs and costs $119.99. The 98-foot H6861 is two 49-foot strings combined, with 100 bulbs, for $199.99. Govee rates the set IP67 and UV-resistant, with an operating range of -4°F to 104°F. It works with Matter, Alexa and Google Assistant.
Pick it if: you want patio lights that can stay up after the season.
Best for rooflines and eaves this season: Icicle Lights

If you want the drip effect along the gutters but aren't ready for a permanent install, the Icicle Lights are Govee's seasonal answer. Govee describes the set as 800 LEDs across 160 drops in two 33-foot rolls, with 90 clips and 90 zip ties, and the adapter sits between the two segments. That description matches the longer kit, so confirm the count for the shorter one on the product page. There are 78+ preset scenes, plus app, Matter, Alexa and Google Assistant control.
The 32.8-foot H70D1 costs $149.99 and the 65.6-foot H70D2 was $229.99 against a listed $269.99 on November 5. Two cautions from Govee's listing: series connections are not supported, so measure your roofline before buying, and the IP44 adapter must sit inside a waterproof box outdoors. The lights are rated IP67 and listed for -4°F to 104°F.
Pick it if: you put roofline lights up every December and take them down in January. If you would rather leave them up all year, read our Govee permanent outdoor lights comparison instead.
Best if you don't have a tree: Cone Tree Lights

The Cone Tree Lights form a tree shape from light strands on an iron stand, with a ground plug and a water bag to hold the base steady outdoors. Sizes are 6.1, 7.5, 9 and 12 feet. The 6.1-foot H6840 was $159.99 and the 12-foot H6843 was $399.99 on November 5, with the middle sizes priced in between.
Govee lists 100+ scene modes, a built-in microphone for music sync, AI-generated effects, and app, Matter and voice control. Its FAQ says the cone shape sets up in minutes without tools and folds for storage. Note one inconsistency on the page: the description calls the strings and control box IP67, while the FAQ says IP65 strings with an IP44 adapter. Plan for the lower rating.
Pick it if: you want a big yard or porch centerpiece without a real tree to wrap.
Best for windows and walls: Curtain Lights 2

Curtain Lights 2 are a grid of LEDs that behave like a low-resolution screen. You can upload photos and GIFs, sketch with a finger, layer up to 10 canvases or describe an effect to the AI Lighting Bot. Govee lists over 200 scene modes and 8 music modes.
The 4.9 x 6.6-foot H70B3 has 520 LEDs and was $109.99 (listed $129.99) on November 5. Govee also lists a 9.8 x 6.6-foot H70B4 with 1,040 LEDs and a 14.8 x 6.6-foot H70B5 with 1,560 LEDs. The H70B3 does not support splicing. Govee says the curtains are for indoor and outdoor use with an IP65 rating, and they work with Matter, Alexa and Google Assistant.
Pick it if: you want a front window to show snowflakes, a "Merry Christmas" message or your own animation.
Best for bushes: Net Lights

Net Lights drape over a shrub and fasten with cable ties. Govee lists 240 LEDs, RGBIC color, picture and GIF uploads, timers and sunrise or sunset schedules, a 13-foot cable, a rated life of up to 25,000 hours and an operating range of -20°C to 40°C. They work with Alexa and Google Assistant. The FAQ calls the mesh IP65, but the adapter is not waterproof and should be sheltered.
The 2.8 x 4.7-foot H6810 was $79.99 (listed $89.99), and the 2.8 x 9.4-foot H6811 was $149.99.
Pick it if: you want neat, even color on hedges in minutes.
Best for covering a house front quickly: Outdoor Projector Light

For the most coverage for the least work, Govee's H7073 projector combines an RGBW aurora effect with 16 RGB laser patterns, 50+ scene modes and 3 motion modes. Placed 33 feet from a wall, Govee says it covers up to 5,069 square feet. The body is aluminum, the projector and control box are IP65, the adapter is IP44, and the listed range is -4°F to 140°F. It was $99.99 against a listed $149.99 on November 5.
Pick it if: you rent or don't want to climb a ladder.
How to choose
- Start with location. Indoors, any model works. Outdoors, skip the Sparkle String Lights and plan a waterproof box for the adapter.
- Measure first. Use Govee's tree sizing (66, 99 or 164 feet for 6, 7.5 or 9-foot trees) and measure rooflines before buying icicle lights, since they can't be chained.
- Decide how much animation you want. Curtain and net lights show pictures and GIFs. String, C9 and icicle lights do color effects along a line. The projector covers the most area with the least detail.
- Check your smart home. Most of these list Matter, Alexa and Google support, but the Net Lights list only Alexa and Google, and the Sparkle String Lights list Alexa, IFTTT and Siri.
- Think about next year. If you decorate the same roofline every year, Govee's permanent lines start at $279.99 for 100 feet of Permanent Outdoor Lights 2. Our Prism review covers the flagship, and our news on Govee's year-round lighting push explains the range.
