Gobi Heat
US maker of battery-heated apparel and accessories such as heated vests, gloves and hand warmers.
What this guide covers
Gobi Heat sells battery-heated jackets, vests, hoodies, gloves, socks, beanies, blankets and even camp chairs from its own store at gobiheat.com, alongside a summer line of cooling vests. Heated gear is a bigger purchase than an ordinary jacket, and the battery, the return rules and the warranty matter as much as the fabric. This guide collects what Gobi Heat's own product pages, FAQ, return policy and warranty page say as of November 2, 2026, so you know what you are buying before you check out.

What Gobi Heat sells, and what it costs
Gobi Heat's catalog is broader than most people expect. Listed prices on gobiheat.com on November 2, 2026 included:
- Heated jackets: Sahara and Sahara II softshells ($149 to $199), the Polaris heated puffer for men and women ($239), the Lita and Victoria women's puffers, the Grit workwear jacket ($239), and parkas such as the Arcadia ($269), Terra ($299) and Kaya ($309).
- Heated vests: the Element ($149), Sierra knit vest ($119), Dune ($189), Cirrus ($189) and the Ibex workwear vest ($199), plus camo hunting vests.
- Heated hoodies: the Ridge ($169), Apex tech hoodie ($179) and Beam high-vis workwear hoodie ($189).
- Heated gloves: the Stealth II liners ($179), Epic II and Drift II ($199) and Vertex II ski gloves ($219). We compare these in our guide to the best Gobi Heat heated gloves.
- Heated socks, hats and base layers: Roam heated socks ($179), heated beanies ($119), the Squall heated balaclava ($59) and FlexCore heated base layer shirts and pants ($199 each).
- Heated blankets and seats: the Zen portable heated blanket ($249), the Cove blanket ($229), the Vantage stadium seat ($179) and several heated camp chairs.
Some older lines, such as the Wolf jackets, Basecamp base layers and Tread socks, were marked "Final Sale" at reduced prices. That label matters, because final sale items cannot be returned (see below).
How the heat works
Gobi Heat garments are powered by a rechargeable battery that sits in a pocket; the Dune vest page, for example, describes conductive-thread heating elements in a lightweight nylon shell. Product pages describe the heat zones and settings for each item. A few examples:

- Sahara II jacket: three heat zones (two in the chest and one large zone in the back) and three heat settings. Gobi Heat says the included 7.4V, 6,500 mAh battery runs up to 10 hours on low, 8 hours on medium and 6 hours on high.
- Polaris puffer: four heat zones (two in the chest, one at the neck and one in the upper back), three settings, powered by the 6500-PD battery.
- Ibex workwear vest: five heat zones (two in the chest, two in the abdomen and a large back zone), up to 9 hours of heat with the 6500-PD battery, and a 13.4 oz duck cotton and nylon shell.
- Roam socks: heat across the whole bottom of the foot, three settings, temperatures up to 149°F, up to 6 hours per charge and a wireless remote.

Battery life by product type
Gobi Heat's FAQ gives runtime by category on low, medium and high:
| Product type | Low | Medium | High |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3-zone jackets | up to 10 hours | 7 hours | 5 hours |
| 5-zone jackets | up to 9 hours | 6 hours | 4 hours |
| Gloves | up to 6 hours | 3 hours | 2 hours |
| Socks | up to 12 hours | 6 hours | 4 hours |
| Beanies | up to 7.5 hours | 5.5 hours | 3.5 hours |
| Base layer pants | up to 10 hours | 7 hours | 5 hours |
| Blankets | up to 6 hours | 4.5 hours | 3.5 hours |
Individual product pages sometimes list slightly different figures (the Sahara II page says 8 hours on medium, for example, and the Roam socks page says up to 6 hours). Treat the product page as the figure for that exact item.
If you need longer runtime, Gobi Heat sells spare batteries. The 6500-PD battery ($79) is a 7.4V, 6,500 mAh hard-shell pack with 30W USB-C Power Delivery fast charging that Gobi Heat says recharges in 3 hours or less. Gobi Heat says it works with its 5V, 7.4V and 12V products, and it publishes a battery compatibility chart so you can check before buying.

Shipping
According to the FAQ, orders typically ship within 1 to 2 business days, and you get a tracking email when the order leaves. Gobi Heat ships internationally, but rates and delivery times vary by location, and customs duties and taxes outside the US are the customer's responsibility. If a shipment is refused, those charges are deducted from any refund.
Returns and exchanges
This is the area where you should read carefully, because Gobi Heat's pages do not all say the same thing.
- Return window: the FAQ says Gobi Heat accepts returns and exchanges within 30 days of receiving the order. The separate refund policy page says items must be postmarked or dropped off within 14 days of receiving them, or 14 days after Christmas, whichever is longer. Because the two pages differ, plan to send a return as early as you can, and confirm the current window in the returns portal or with customer service before you rely on the longer one.
- Condition: items must be unused and unwashed, returned with the battery and charger in the original packaging. The policy says items returned with pet hair or smelling of smoke or perfume will not be refunded.
- Shipping cost: for non-defective returns, you pay return shipping unless you added Gobi Heat's Free Returns and Exchanges option at checkout. The FAQ says eligible US exchanges qualify for free return processing.
- Exclusions: final sale and clearance items cannot be returned or exchanged, and custom products are final.
- Free gifts: if your order included a free gift, it must come back in original condition or its value may be deducted from your refund.
- Refund method: credit goes back to the original payment method, and processing can take 2 to 3 business days after the return arrives.
The practical takeaway: try heated gear on indoors with the battery connected and the tags on, and decide quickly. If you wash it or wear it outside, you may lose the right to a refund.
Warranty
Gobi Heat's warranty page says its products are covered against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date the product ships, and that this also covers rechargeable batteries. Key details:
- The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
- If inspection confirms a manufacturing defect, Gobi Heat will repair or replace the item, possibly with a refurbished or comparable product.
- For orders placed on gobiheat.com, Gobi Heat reimburses return shipping up to $15 once the defect is confirmed.
- Warranty claims are not eligible for refunds.
- It does not cover unauthorized repairs, alterations, misuse, neglect or normal wear and tear.
To make a claim, Gobi Heat asks you to include your order number, contact details and a short description of the problem with the returned item.
Paying with HSA or FSA funds
Gobi Heat says many of its products can be bought with pre-tax FSA or HSA funds through its partner Truemed. Eligible product pages show a Truemed widget with a short qualification process. Not every product qualifies, so look for the Truemed badge on the specific product page.
Caring for heated gear
Gobi Heat's FAQ says to disconnect the battery, tuck the cable back into the battery pocket, and wash and dry on gentle cycles. The Roam socks and Zen blanket are both described as machine washable once the battery is removed. Our step-by-step guide on how to wash heated clothing covers each product type.

The Zen blanket is a good example of how far the line goes beyond clothing. Gobi Heat says it has three heat zones, three settings, up to 8.5 hours on the included 20,000 mAh battery, and can also plug into a wall outlet or vehicle.
Battery safety and the hand warmer recall
Gobi Heat recalled its UT3053 rechargeable hand warmers over a battery fire risk. If you own one, read our recall coverage and our battery safety guide. The recall concerns that hand warmer, but it is a good reminder to charge any lithium-ion pack with the supplied charger and stop using any battery that swells or overheats.

Before you order: a checklist
- Pick the product type first (jacket, vest, gloves, socks), then compare heat zones and runtime on the product page.
- Check whether the item is marked Final Sale.
- Use the size chart on the product page, because exchanges cost time during the short return window.
- Decide whether to add Free Returns and Exchanges at checkout.
- If you need a spare battery, check the battery compatibility chart first.
- Keep your order number. You need it for returns and warranty claims.
