Our verdict

On Decathlon's specs, the 2 Seconds Easy Fresh & Black is a strong car-camping and festival tent that folds into a normal bag and sleeps two more comfortably than the standard 2 Seconds, but at 4.7 kg it is too heavy for most backpacking.

Decathlon's Quechua 2 Seconds tents are some of the best-known pop-up tents sold in the US, and the 2 Seconds Easy Fresh & Black is the version built around easier folding. This review looks at the 2-person model on Decathlon's US store using Decathlon's own specifications as of November 5, 2026, and compares it with the cheaper standard 2 Seconds Fresh & Black. We have not pitched either tent ourselves, so this is a spec-based review, not a field test.

Quick verdict

The 2 Seconds Easy is a good fit for car camping, festivals and short trips where fast pitching, a dark interior and a compact rectangular bag matter more than low weight. At 4.7 kg (about 10.4 lb) it is too heavy for most backpacking, and it costs $110 more than the standard 2 Seconds 2-person on Decathlon's US store, so it is worth it mainly if the standard model's large flat disc is a problem for you.

Price and listings

On November 5, 2026, Decathlon's US store listed the Quechua 2 Second Easy Fresh & Black Waterproof Pop Up Camping Tent, 2 Person (model 9004203) at $259 in Snowy White. A separate, older listing for a 2 Seconds Easy 2-person tent was priced at $160 with a $249 compare-at price, and its description differs in places, so check the model number on the page before you buy. The standard 2 Second Fresh & Black, 2 Person (model 9004195) was $149. Prices on Decathlon's store change often, especially around seasonal sales.

The 2-person model 9004203 showed an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 on its product page; the static page did not show how many reviews that average is based on.

Pitching and folding

Both tents are freestanding, which means the structure stands on its own before you stake it. The standard 2 Seconds springs open from a flat disc, and Decathlon says a guide system makes folding it back up easier.

The Easy version uses what Decathlon calls an exclusive patented "EASY pitching & folding" system. Decathlon's photos show pull cords on each side that you draw out to raise the tent, and the older Easy listing describes "a pulling system on both sides." Decathlon describes the 2-person model 9004203 as a tent that "pitches in minutes." The "2 Seconds" name refers to the pop-up mechanism, not a promise that the whole setup, including stakes and guylines, takes two seconds.

The bigger practical difference is packing. The standard 2 Seconds folds into a flat disc 74 cm (about 29 inches) across, which is easy to slide behind a car seat but awkward to carry by hand or strap to a pack. The Easy folds into a rectangular bag of 59 x 20 x 20 cm, closer to the shape of a regular tent bag, which most people will find easier to store and carry.

Space and comfort

The Easy's bedroom is 205 cm long and 145 cm wide, and Decathlon gives a sleeping width of up to 27.6 inches per person. That is roughly the width of a standard sleeping pad each, so two adults fit side by side with little room for gear inside. Decathlon's older Easy listing calls it ideal for 2 people up to 6 feet 8 inches tall. The two shoe storage areas give you somewhere to leave muddy footwear outside the sleeping area.

The standard 2 Seconds is narrower at 120 cm, with a maximum sleeping width of 60 cm (about 23.6 inches) per person, and its peak height is 99 cm compared with 110 cm on the Easy. If two adults will share it regularly, the Easy's extra width and headroom are the main comfort upgrade.

Fresh & Black fabric: darkness and heat

Fresh & Black is Decathlon's patented exterior fabric. Decathlon says it gives 99% darkness even in broad daylight, and the older listing says it reflects the sun's rays to help keep the tent cooler in warm weather. Combined with the flysheet and mechanical air vents listed for model 9004203, it is aimed at people who want to sleep past sunrise at festivals or in summer campsites.

Decathlon does not publish an inside temperature figure for the fabric, so treat "fresh" as a general claim about heat reduction rather than a measured result.

Weather protection

Both tents list a flysheet waterproofing rating of over 2000 mm on the Schmerber scale, a common rating for three-season family and festival tents. The Easy's groundsheet is rated over 5000 mm, roughly double the standard model's 2400 mm, which matters on wet or soggy pitches.

Decathlon says both models withstood winds of 50 km/h (about 31 mph, Force 6) in wind tunnel testing on a rotating plate. The older Easy listing describes it as a three-season tent for spring to fall. Pop-up tents are generally less suited to exposed, high-wind sites than tents with a pole frame you can tension, so use all the stakes and guylines in poor weather.

Weight and who it suits

At 4.7 kg (about 10.4 lb), the Easy is 0.7 kg heavier than the standard 2 Seconds. Decathlon's older Easy listing recommends it for short backpacking trips or car camping. In practice that means campsites, festivals, beach weekends and road trips where the tent goes from the car to the pitch.

If you plan longer hikes, look at a lighter trekking tent instead. Our guide to choosing a hiking backpack covers how much weight is realistic to carry for different trip lengths.

Warranty and returns

Decathlon's US warranty policy says the length of the warranty depends on the product and is listed on each product page or product label. One of Decathlon's images for the standard 2 Seconds Fresh & Black shows a 5-year warranty. The static text of the 2 Seconds Easy 9004203 page did not state its warranty length, so check the page's specifications or ask Decathlon before buying if this matters to you. Keep your receipt, since Decathlon requires proof of purchase for warranty claims.

Our Decathlon shopping guide covers shipping, returns and how warranty claims work on the US store.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Freestanding pop-up design with a pull-cord pitching and folding system
  • Packs into a rectangular 23.6 L bag instead of a large flat disc
  • Wider and taller than the standard 2 Seconds 2-person
  • Fresh & Black fabric rated by Decathlon for 99% darkness in daylight
  • Groundsheet rated over 5000 mm

Cons

  • $110 more than the standard 2 Seconds 2-person on Decathlon's US store
  • 4.7 kg is heavy for backpacking
  • Two listings with different prices and descriptions can be confusing
  • Warranty length is not shown in the static text of the product page

Bottom line

On Decathlon's specifications, the Quechua 2 Seconds Easy Fresh & Black 2-person improves on the standard 2 Seconds where it counts for most campers: easier folding into a normal-shaped bag, more width and headroom, and a tougher groundsheet. If you mostly camp from a car and want a tent that goes up and comes down quickly with a dark interior, it is worth the extra cost. If you only camp a few nights a year and the flat disc doesn't bother you, the standard 2 Seconds covers the basics for less.
