Apple announced on October 27, 2026 a large update to Apple Creator Studio, its subscription bundle of creative apps for Mac, iPad and iPhone. The update arrives on the App Store in November 2026 as a free update for existing subscribers, and it leans heavily on AI: a new assistant in Logic Pro, assistants in Keynote, Pages and Numbers, and a Generate Fill tool in Pixelmator Pro.

What changed
- Final Cut Pro (Mac): MotionVFX effects, transitions, templates and motion graphics are now built in, alongside rotoscoping, tracking and color tools; images can round-trip to Pixelmator Pro; Apple's Content Hub adds stock video; 23 new transcription languages.
- Logic Pro (Mac): a beta assistant that can set up tracks or start a song from a prompt, a redesigned Browser that tags all your sounds automatically, Stem Splitter that can now isolate drums, and a Sergio George salsa Producer Pack.
- Pixelmator Pro: Generate Fill edits a selected area from a text description and upscales the result.
- Keynote, Pages, Numbers: beta assistants built on Apple models and OpenAI, Model Context Protocol (MCP) support on macOS 27 so outside AI agents can read and edit documents, stock video, and new templates. Keynote adds an open JSON-based .keyx file format.
- Motion and Compressor: MotionVFX plug-ins in Motion; Compressor can encode Cinematic mode video from iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo.
Who is affected
- Existing subscribers get everything free from November 2026.
- New subscribers pay $12.99 a month or $129 a year in the US, with a one-month free trial; buying a new Mac or qualifying iPad adds three months free. Education pricing is $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year.
- Language limits: the assistants in Logic Pro and in Keynote, Pages and Numbers are US English only, and require an Apple Intelligence-capable device.
- One-time buyers: standalone Final Cut Pro ($299.99), Logic Pro ($199.99), Pixelmator Pro, Motion and Compressor ($49.99 each) and MainStage ($29.99) remain on the Mac App Store. Apple's announcement does not say which new features reach those versions.
Our take
Built-in MotionVFX content is the update's most tangible value for video editors, because third-party effects packs like these are usually bought separately. For musicians, the drum-aware Stem Splitter matters more day to day than the assistant.
On price, the annual plan at $129 saves $26.88 compared with paying $12.99 monthly for a year ($155.88). If you only use one app, compare carefully: the one-time Logic Pro license costs $199.99. Since Apple has not said which new features reach the one-time versions, check before you choose.
