The Papablic SafeguardPlus and the Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro are two of the best-known countertop machines that wash, sterilize and dry baby bottles in one cycle. They solve the same problem in different ways: Papablic built a larger machine with water filtration and a sink drain hose, while Baby Brezza built a smaller machine with removable water tanks that can sit anywhere. This comparison uses each brand's official product pages as of November 5, 2026, plus published testing of the SafeguardPlus. We have not tested either machine ourselves.

The short answer

  • Choose the Papablic SafeguardPlus if you wash a lot of bottles and pump parts each day, have hard water, and can place the machine next to a sink. It holds up to 8 bottle sets and filters the water it uses, but it costs more and needs a filter change roughly every 30 cycles.
  • Choose the Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro if you wash fewer bottles per load, want to use the machine away from the sink, or want the lower list price. It holds up to 4 bottles, uses clean and dirty water tanks instead of a drain hose, and dries with HEPA-filtered air, but Baby Brezza says it only works with Baby Brezza's own detergent tablets.

Capacity: 8 bottle sets vs 4 bottles

Capacity is the biggest practical difference. Papablic says the SafeguardPlus holds up to 8 bottle sets along with pump parts, nipples and accessories, and its FAQ says it fits glass, silicone, plastic and stainless steel bottles from brands such as Dr. Brown's and Evenflo.

Baby Brezza lists the Bottle Washer Pro at up to 4 bottles, plus pump parts, sippy cups and accessories, with spray jets dedicated to each. It says the machine fits virtually all bottles and most pump part sets, but wearable pump parts need a separate Breast Pump Replacement Rack.

If you feed with formula around the clock, pump exclusively or have twins, 8 bottles in one load can mean one cycle a day instead of two. If you only wash a few bottles at a time, the extra space matters less.

Water: filtration and drain hose vs tanks

The SafeguardPlus is the only one of the two with water filtration. Papablic describes its PurifyClean filter as softening water and removing contaminants such as lead, PFAS and chlorine, and says you can use regular tap water rather than distilled water. Its FAQ recommends replacing the filter about every 30 wash cycles, sooner with harder water or heavier use. A Smart Filter Reminder tracks usage and tells you when to change it.

Papablic's box contents list includes the main unit, an outer and inner water tank, the PurifyClean filter, a drain hose and a suction hose. Mommyhood101, which reviewed the machine with a sample supplied by Papablic, describes the drain hose running into the sink, so plan to place it next to one.

The Bottle Washer Pro takes the opposite approach. Baby Brezza says there is no sink hook-up and no drain hose: the machine has a removable clean water tank and a removable dirty water tank, plus built-in wheels, so you can use it anywhere in the kitchen or house. Baby Brezza says it uses 85% less water than hand-washing, and it sells descaling tablets separately for mineral build-up.

Cleaning, sterilizing and drying

Both machines wash with jets, sterilize with steam and dry with fans, and both say items stay clean inside for 72 hours.

Baby Brezza lists 20 high-pressure spray jets and three rinse cycles, says washing and rinsing take 19 minutes, and says a full wash, sterilize and dry cycle takes 90 minutes. It offers six settings: wash, sterilize and dry; wash and dry; sterilize and dry; wash only; sterilize only; and dry only. Baby Brezza also says independent lab testing found 0% milk residue after one complete cycle and that it is clinically proven to clean better than bottle brushes; those are the company's claims.

Papablic describes a dual-spray system with 360° coverage, steam sterilization with "triple high-heat treatment," and dual-fan drying. Mommyhood101's review lists the wash programs as Rapid+ at about 12 minutes, Normal at about 29 minutes and Heavy at about 45 minutes, with drying of 45 to 60 minutes and a short drying cycle during storage. It also notes it did not do microbiological testing, so Papablic's 99.99% figure remains the brand's claim.

Our Papablic SafeguardPlus review goes deeper on published testing and the owner complaints about odor and water-line buildup, which mostly trace back to filter and cleaning upkeep.

Running costs

The SafeguardPlus's filter is its main recurring cost. Papablic sold a single PurifyClean replacement filter for $29.99 and a 3-pack for $69.99 on November 5, 2026. Its detergent tablets are recommended but not required: Papablic says the washer can run with water alone, though it recommends a tablet because milk fats don't fully rinse away with water.

The Bottle Washer Pro has no water filter to replace, but Baby Brezza says it only works with Baby Brezza detergent tablets, so you are committed to buying them. The product page says 60 tablets are included and lists a replacement HEPA filter for the Bottle Washer Pro as a separate part. On November 5, 2026, Baby Brezza listed a 120-tablet pack of its detergent tablets at $19.99.

In practice, the Papablic costs more to run if you change filters on schedule in a hard-water area, while the Baby Brezza ties you to one brand of tablet.

Warranty, shipping and returns

Papablic. According to Papablic's warranty page, the standard warranty is 12 months, with an extra 12 months for registered members and 12 more for families with multiple children, up to 36 months. On November 5, 2026, the SafeguardPlus page was also advertising a limited bonus kit that included an exclusive 3-year warranty, a replacement filter and 60 detergent tablets. Papablic's return window is 30 days, with no-questions returns limited to unused items in unopened packaging, and the warranty excludes purchases through unauthorized resellers and use outside the US or Canada. Our Papablic shopping guide covers the full policies.

Baby Brezza. The Bottle Washer Pro carries a 1-year warranty plus a free 6-month extension when bought direct from babybrezza.com, which the page presents as an 18-month warranty, along with free shipping and free 45-day returns. Baby Brezza says the warranty is not valid if the product is shipped outside the US.

Which should you buy?

Pick the Papablic SafeguardPlus if:

  • You wash 6 to 8 bottles or several pump sets per load
  • You have hard water and are tired of cloudy bottles or limescale
  • The machine can live next to the sink
  • You are willing to change a filter about every 30 cycles

Pick the Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro if:

  • You wash up to 4 bottles at a time
  • You want to run it away from the sink, for example in a nursery or a small kitchen
  • You prefer HEPA-filtered drying and the lower price
  • You are happy to buy Baby Brezza's own tablets

If you only need sterilizing and drying, not washing, both brands sell cheaper sterilizer dryers, and our guide to cleaning and sterilizing baby bottles with Papablic's washer, steam and UV machines explains which type of machine fits which routine.

Bottom line

On the brands' own specs, the Papablic SafeguardPlus is the bigger, more capable machine for heavy daily use and hard water, at a higher price and with filter upkeep. The Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro is the more flexible machine for smaller loads, with tanks instead of plumbing and a lower list price, but it locks you into its own detergent. Count how many bottles you wash in a typical load, check where the machine will sit, and the choice usually makes itself.
