Once Upon a Farm is recalling all lots and varieties of its Tractor Wheels Organic Toddler Soft-Baked Bars because of a potential choking hazard for toddlers. The US Food and Drug Administration published the company's announcement on November 2, 2026. The announcement itself is dated October 30.

What is recalled and why

According to the notice, the bars' composition can rapidly hydrate into a dense, dry and sticky mass on contact with saliva and during chewing. That can create a potential choking hazard for toddlers aged 1.5 to 2.5 years.

The recall followed three consumer complaints of choking reported to the FDA. No injuries had been reported to date.

The recall covers:

  • Products: every Tractor Wheels flavor and pack size, including:
    • Strawberry, Pumpkin & Beet
    • Apple, Sweet Potato & Spinach
    • Banana, Pumpkin & Cauliflower
    • 20- and 30-count variety packs
    • Three online-only snack sampler boxes that contain Tractor Wheels cartons
  • Dates: all lot codes, including expired product. The unexpired Best If Used By dates run from October 30, 2026 to August 26, 2027.
  • Distribution: nationwide, including Puerto Rico, both online and in retail stores.

Once Upon a Farm's recall FAQ says there is no lot code to check, because every Tractor Wheels bar is included. The company says it is reformulating the product.

What parents should do

  • Do not serve the bars. The FDA notice says not to open the package or eat the product.
  • Return or discard them. Return the bars to the place of purchase for a full refund. The company's own recall page says families may also discard the bars and claim a refund with proof of purchase.
  • Contact the company with questions or about website orders: care@uponafarm.com or 1-888-983-1606. The phone line is open Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm PST, and Saturday, 8:00 am to 11:00 am PST.
  • Expect refunds within about 5 business days. The company says refunds can take up to that long and that it will email a confirmation.

If a child is choking and cannot breathe, cough or cry, call 911.
