What this guide covers
21+ only. WARNING: This product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical. This guide is for adults who already use nicotine. If you don't use nicotine, don't start. Nothing here is health advice, and nicotine pouches are not a quit-smoking aid.
ALP sells more than a dozen nicotine pouch flavors across three product lines, each with its own strength options. It also sells a separate range of caffeine pouches, plus tins and holsters for carrying them. All sales on alppouch.com are final, so the wrong pack can be an expensive mistake. This guide explains how the lines differ, how to match a strength to what you already use, and how to keep pouches fresh. It's built from ALP's product pages and FAQ as of November 2, 2026, not from hands-on use.

Step 1: Pick the line, not just the flavor
ALP's flavors fall into three families. The family decides the strengths and pouch feel you'll get.
Core ALP (moist, mint-forward). Chilled Mint, Mountain Wintergreen, Refreshing Chill, Spearmint, Tropical Fruit, Sweet Nectar and Classic. The FAQ says the flagship pouches "put more emphasis on moisture." This is the only line with four strengths: 3mg, 6mg, 9mg and 12mg. A 5-tin pack costs $26.45, a 20-pack $99.96 and a 50-pack $238.00. Peppermint, a limited holiday flavor that came back on October 26, 2026, uses the same format in 3mg, 6mg and 9mg.
Drifters (semi-moist, bold fruit with a cool finish). Island Peach, Blueberry Lemonade Ice, Mango Freeze, Lemon Raspberry and Watermelon Kiwi Ice. ALP calls Drifters a different formula with "a stronger focus on bold, unique flavor." It may feel slightly less moist than core ALP, and every Drifters flavor ends with a cool, minty finish. It comes only in 6mg and 12mg, at $27.45 for 5 tins or $104.28 for 20.
Frontier (gentle, no cooling). Cowboy Coffee, Sunset Mango and Campfire Cinnamon. Frontier "skips the ice," according to ALP, and the flavor is gentler rather than intense. The pouch can also feel a little less moist. It comes in 4mg and 8mg at $23.99 for 5 tins, which makes it the cheapest way into ALP. ALP calls Frontier a limited release.

Step 2: Match the strength to what you use now
Pouch strength is printed in milligrams of nicotine per pouch, and every brand labels it the same way. The simplest rule for an adult who already uses pouches is to choose the ALP strength closest to what you use now, not a higher one. ALP's mg labels describe the same thing as other brands', but pouch moisture and size can change how a product feels. When you're unsure, a lower strength in a 5-tin pack is the cautious choice.
How the lines line up:
| If you currently use about... | Core ALP | Drifters | Frontier |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3mg | 3mg | — | 4mg is closest |
| 6mg | 6mg | 6mg | 4mg or 8mg |
| 8–9mg | 9mg | — | 8mg |
| 12mg | 12mg | 12mg | — |
Drifters has no strength below 6mg, and Frontier has nothing above 8mg. If you want a low strength, core ALP at 3mg is the lowest option across the brand. PouchRated, an independent comparison site, notes the same.
ALP's FAQ suggests keeping a pouch between your gum and upper or lower lip for about 30 minutes, then putting it in the trash. Its product warnings say ALP isn't for minors, people who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or people with or at risk of heart disease or high blood pressure.
Step 3: Choose a flavor profile
Once you've picked a line and strength, choose a flavor:
- Straight mint: Chilled Mint is described as "pure, crisp chill." Spearmint and Mountain Wintergreen are other classic mint profiles. Refreshing Chill adds extra cooling.
- Seasonal mint: Peppermint is described as "a bold, icy peppermint hit," back for a limited holiday run. ALP says it won't restock it once it sells out.
- Fruit with cooling: any Drifters flavor, or Tropical Fruit and Sweet Nectar in the core line.
- No ice: Frontier's Cowboy Coffee, described as "a rich hit of roasted espresso," plus Campfire Cinnamon and Sunset Mango. Classic is the core line's simplest option.
- Can't decide: the 30 Pack Combo ($134.88) has five tins each of Chilled Mint, Mountain Wintergreen, Refreshing Chill, Tropical Fruit, Spearmint and Sweet Nectar in one strength. The Frontier Combo Pack ($61.17) has five tins of each Frontier flavor, and the Drifters Combo Pack has 25 tins for $116.60.
Check shipping before you settle on a flavor. Only Classic can ship to California, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C. Tropical Fruit, the combo packs and Drifters are blocked in several cities, including New York City. Our ALP shopping guide has the full list.
Step 4: Pick the right pack size
All ALP nicotine pouches come in multi-tin packs. The FAQ says the store doesn't sell single tins. Each tin holds 20 pouches.
- 5 tins (100 pouches): the best way to try a new line or strength, since you can't return what you don't like.
- 20 tins (400 pouches): about $5.00 a tin for core flavors, and enough to pass the $80 free Economy shipping threshold on its own.
- 50 tins (1,000 pouches): about $4.76 a tin, but only worth it once you're sure of the flavor and strength. ALP says pouches have an expected shelf life of up to 12 months.
- Subscription: monthly shipments start at 5% off and can reach 15%. You can swap flavors or strengths before each order, but canceling resets your progress.
The nicotine-free option: ALP caffeine pouches
ALP also sells caffeine pouches that contain no nicotine. Each tin holds 15 XL pouches with 50mg of caffeine apiece. Flavors are Coffee Break, Black Cherry, Peppermint, Wintergreen, Spicy Cinnamon and Pumpkin Spice. Prices are $27.45 for 5 tins and $104.28 for 20, and there's a 25-tin combo for $116.65. ALP says they're made in the USA.
These are a different product, not a lower-strength nicotine pouch. Keep track of how much caffeine you get each day from all sources, including coffee and energy drinks.

Step 5: Store and carry pouches properly
ALP's FAQ recommends storing tins somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight, with the lid closed tightly so the pouches keep their moisture and flavor. For carrying them around, the store sells:
- Metal Travel Tins ($29.99) in black, gunmetal, forest green and frost gray. They're metal cases engraved with the ALP logo.
- Leather Holsters ($34.99) made in the USA. They hold one tin with a snap closure and belt loop.
- Tactical Holsters ($34.99) made in the USA from firearm-accessory materials, with a belt clip.
- Limited Edition Slide Case ($249.99) CNC-milled in Montana from 6061 aluminum. It has a large compartment for fresh pouches and a smaller one for used pouches.

Whatever you carry them in, keep pouches away from children and pets. ALP's packaging warnings say the same. Put used pouches in the trash, not on the ground. If you're flying, ALP's FAQ says pouches are usually fine in hand luggage but advises checking airline and destination rules first.
A sensible first order
For an adult pouch user trying ALP for the first time:
- Confirm your address can receive the flavor you want.
- Choose the line by pouch feel: core for moist and minty, Drifters for bold fruit with cooling, Frontier for gentler flavors with no ice.
- Choose the strength closest to what you use now, and go lower if you're unsure.
- Start with a 5-tin pack, since sales are final.
- Move up to a 20-pack or a subscription only once you've settled on a favorite.
